In this presentation, Brendan Duffy, Vice President, Blackstone Strategic Partners, provides an overview of LP- and GP-led transactions. Specifically, the fund we’ve chosen to invest in is predominantly an LP-Led secondaries fund. At a high-level, as articulated by Brendon, most other secondaries managers can achieve very good returns. However, what sets the fund we have invested in apart is the unique risk-return profile employed to deliver these returns, characterized by highly diversified portfolios. Another distinguishing feature is the focus on older vintage funds, averaging 7-8 years, which represents a sweet spot in the market. These funds are typically funded at 90% or more upon acquisition, thereby minimizing blind pool risk and offering high visibility into the assets. Conseqently, these assets are closer to exit resulting in improved liquidity. These advantages, among others, contribute to the long-term delivery of superior risk-adjusted returns for our advisor clients and make Blackstone a fitting private investment partner for Starlight Capital.
